If you’ve been dreaming about quitting your 9 to 5 to start you own fashion brand but feeling hopelessly frustrated that your dream may never become a reality - then listen up.
Laura Bavlnka and I met recently at a local fashion event in Milwaukee and I absolutely loved the story of her and her brand.
She is a fashion designer and textile artist and until very recently was designing girls’ clothing for the brand Jumping Beans at Kohl’s. In June of 2017, despite being terrified, she left her job at Kohl’s to pursue her passions head on.
Now she is the Designer CEO of Bavlnka Brand, a lifestyle brand of clothing, accessories, and home decor designed and crafted by in Milwaukee, WI. Laura’s love of natural fibers and one-of-a kind textiles inspired her to launch her sustainable line and are featured throughout her clothing line. She dyes, paints, and embroiders her materials and turns them into wearables and special wall art pieces. Bavlnka Brand is designed for the free spirited, socially conscious woman who intends for clothing to not only tell a story of who she is but also where her clothing has come from.
Join us as Laura shares the journey of Bavlnka Brand, her unconventional path to entrepreneurship, the need for sustainability in fashion today and how that impacts her brand, the sacrifices she’s made to bring her vision to life and of course words of wisdom specifically for Designer CEOs in today’s episode, “Sacrificing for Sustainability with Laura Bavlnka, Designer CEO of Bavlnka Brand”
