Business and retail resources and trends are everywhere and anywhere. With SO many options on the internet and social media, you never quite know where to look to find the BEST sources of quality information and inspiration.
I've made it easy for you by cutting through all the clutter and featuring "The Select" few. Here is what I'm listening, following, reading, downloading, and watching to get the scoop on business and retail.
LISTEN:
BRICK & DATA
WHAT: “Brick & Data podcast is all about retail news, analytics, and tech. We’ll cover trending news of the week, surface game changer technologies, and explore how retailers are surviving and thriving.” - Brick & Data
WHY: Brick & Data is a great podcast for retail professionals but what I love about it is the casual format and discussion that is more like friends "talking shop" than a stuffy business report. It's insightful and comfortable.
WHERE: iTunes, Google Play Music, Stitcher
FOLLOW:
@THEFRUGALITY
WHAT: Fashion Editor and Blogger, Alex Stedman’s instagram, @thefrugality, is a visual story combining posts featuring fashioned style shots, trademark flatlays, and home décor goals.
WHY: I love the mix eclectic of the posts featured on @thefrugality. Alex creates curated posts that not only provide eye candy but inspiration for all the major retail categories.

READ:
HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE
WHAT: “Dale Carnegie’s rock-solid, time-tested advice has carried countless people up the ladder of success in their business and personal lives. One of the most groundbreaking and timeless bestsellers of all time” - Amazon
WHY: A classic that not only withstands the test of time but in today’s age of the internet, is more relevant than ever. It delivers real perspective on developing and managing relationships
WHERE: Amazon & book stores everywhere
DOWNLOAD:
WHAT: Pocket helps “people save interesting articles, videos and more from the web for later enjoyment. Once saved to Pocket, the list of content is visible on any device — phone, tablet or computer. It can be viewed while waiting in line, on the couch, during commutes or travel — even offline.” - Pocket
WHY: I recently discovered this app and fell in love with it immediately. No more emailing links of articles to myself to read later when I find the time. Ah-maz-ing!
WHERE: your favorite app store
WATCH:
RIVERDALE
WHAT: “While navigating the troubled waters of sex, romance, school and family, teen Archie and his gang become entangled in a dark Riverdale mystery.” - Netflix
WHY: Why am I recommending this slightly twisted Archie and Friends reboot? Well this is THE show that teens are watching and just like Gossip Girl, and Pretty Little Liars before it, Riverdale is serving up the big trends to watch.
INSIGHTS
